Trail of Painted Ponies
The Trail of Painted Ponies began in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2001 as a public art project intended to promote cultural tourism, showcase the artistic community in the Southwest, and raise money for worthwhile philanthropic organizations, accomplished all it's goals. The Trail of Painted Ponies enchanted hundreds of thousands of people, produced dazzling artwork, and raised almost a million dollars for youth, arts, social, animal and environmental organizations. They are now located in Arizona.

This 2' tall original Masterwork was created by artist Gary Montgomery in memory of his grandfather, who was a World War II veteran. He was inspired to create this pony by a photograph of his grandfather that was taken by Gary himself.
