Trail of Painted Ponies

The Trail of Painted Ponies began in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2001 as a public art project intended to promote cultural tourism, showcase the artistic community in the Southwest, and raise money for worthwhile philanthropic organizations, accomplished all it's goals. The Trail of Painted Ponies enchanted hundreds of thousands of people, produced dazzling artwork, and raised almost a million dollars for youth, arts, social, animal and environmental organizations. They are now located in Arizona.

Ceremonial Pony


Price: $65,000.
This 6' life-size pony was created by historian and artist Cathy Smith. This Pony is adorned with a Crow woman’s Horse Trappings Outfit, circa 1870s in classic Crow design. This bronze pony includes a hand beaded rosette surrounded with horsehair tassels and wrapped in dyed cotton string.
